Research interests
Specific research interests include astrodynamics, trajectory optimisation, solar sailing, re-entry, hypersonics, and space mission analysis and design.
Academic background
I completed my Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Pisa while I received my Master's degree in Spaceflight Engineering at Delft University of Technology. During my MSc thesis, I worked on the development of software for hypersonic entry vehicle performance analysis and optimisation. Shortly after graduating, I returned to Delft University of Technology to pursue my other research interests, astrodynamics and solar sailing. Specifically, I am working with Dr. Jeannette Heiligers and Fernando Gámez Losada on the SWEEP project, with the goal of deriving, for the first time, a high-fidelity near-Earth solar-sail dynamical model from solar-sail mission flight data.
