The Power of Objects: Using our heritage to bring curiosity and inspiration into education
What if rethinking how students engage with design history could spark fresh creativity? Join us for a unique Meet & Eat session where we celebrate the closure of Ianus Keller's Comenius project by exploring together inspiration in education. Ianus challenges the norms of teaching methods and processes by focusing on sparking curiosity and enthusiasm in our students.
The outcome of this project has been displayed in Teaching Lab since Education Day. In this event, you will learn more about One Object : Nomadic Inspiration (OO:NI), an interactive installation designed to trigger students' imaginations and meaningful conversations through a heritage collection of design objects. The project invites students to reflect on their personal experiences, cultural backgrounds, and associations, generating collective insights through AI-enhanced visualizations.
Key topics include:
- The role of physical objects and heritage in learning and their power to inspire.
- How personal experiences influence education and how we can create space for students to bring their full selves into the classroom.
Let’s discuss how we can reimagine education to foster curiosity, heritage appreciation, and inspiration by embracing the stories objects hold.
