Als je alleen kijkt naar de CO2-uitstoot, scoort kernenergie erg goed in vergelijking met andere vormen van elektriciteitsopwekking. Dat wil zeggen, die uitstoot is erg laag: 5 tot 6 gram CO2 per opgewekte kilowattuur (kWh).
