Matthew Steinberg

About

Matthew Steinberg studied his Bachelor’s degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA, and his Master’s degree at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. After internships at the quantum technology startup HQS Quantum Simulations GmbH and at the Polytechnical University of Cartagena with Javier Prior, Matthew started working for Carmen Almudever’s Group in February 2020. His PhD research within Sebastian Feld's group involves qubit-mapping algorithms, fault-tolerant quantum error correction protocols, and quantum simulations for quantum field theory using tensor-network methods.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys a lot of different activities: sports (cycling, running, gym workouts, among others), traveling, learning foreign languages, cooking, chess, playing the piano, and reading.
