It represents an important step towards the realization of future miniature 3D ultrasound probes
At the 2017 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium in Washington DC, PhD student Chao Chen has won the Best Student Paper Award. Chao works in Michiel Pertijs’ group at the Electronic Instrumentation Lab on integrated circuits for miniature ultrasound probes.
Chao: “My paper describes a chip that makes it possible to connect 1000’s of small ultrasound transducer elements integrated at the tip of an endoscope or catheter to an imaging system. It represents an important step towards the realization of future miniature 3D ultrasound probes.”
