With a Dutch BSc Degree
The application deadline of Dutch student is 1 May. After this date, it will be difficult to process your application and registration on time.
Directly admissible studies
If you have completed the following programmes, you will be directly admitted to the CoSEM programme:
- BSc degree in Technische Bestuurskunde - TU Delft;
- BSc degree in Technische Bedrijfskunde (Industrial Engineering (and Management)) - RUG, TU/e, UT;
- BSc degree in Science, Business and Innovation - VU Amsterdam;
- BSc degree in Natuurwetenschap en Innovatiemanagement - U Utrecht;
- BSc degree in Business Engineering - Maastricht University;
- Another socio-technical engineering BSc degree, to be assessed by the admission committee.

You only have to register in Studielink.
Monodisciplinary engineering or natural sciences background
Starting in September 2025, students with a monodisciplinary technical BSc with a deficit in the areas of governance, economics and law, can follow a new bridging programme. This one-year bridging programme can be followed by Dutch speaking students. After successfully following this programme, these students can be admitted to the CoSEM master’s programme in the academic year 2026/2027. More information can be found on this website.
Application and enrolment
If you fulfill the admission requirements, you can apply to the CoSEM MSc programme by submitting the documents listed below AND register in Studielink (see 'Registration' below):

- Essay (please, disregard the general essay requirements for TU Delft)
A clear and relevant motivation letter written by the applicant (Document name: LastnameInitals-essay.pdf), covering the following subjects:- Your motivation for taking the CoSEM MSc programme and what you expect from the study. (200 words max)
- Which Track interests you most, and why? (100 words max)
- The description of two different hypothetical CoSEM thesis projects: what kind of project would you prefer if you were free to choose? Briefly explain what you would want to explore in these projects. (200 words max)
- A list of courses you have passed (30 EC minimum) in at least two of the three subjects: economics, law and policy. If a course name does not clearly reflect its contents, please include the learning objectives or a link to the course description.
- Extensive résumé
An extensive résumé (curriculum vitae) written in English by the applicant. Document name: LastnameInitals-resume.pdf - BSc diploma
A certified copy of your BSc diploma (if the BSc degree is not yet available before the application deadline, it can be submitted later). Document name: LastnameInitals-certificates.pdf - List of grades
A certified copy of the full list of grades. Document name: LastnameInitals-finalgrades.pdf. In case you haven’t received all grades or your BSc diploma yet, please send a certified copy of all grades you received up till now. Document name: LastnameInitals-currentgrades.pdf
Certified copies of documents should bear the original logo and original stamp of the office that issued the original document.

- Send all documents required for the application to toelatingscommissie-COSEM-TBM@tudelft.nl, in pdf format (Please pay attention to the size of your documents to prevent it from being undeliverable)
- The selection committee will decide if you can be admitted to the MSc programme or the pre-master programme and under what conditions.
- As soon as the selection committee has decided that you can be admitted, Education & Student Affairs (ESA) will be informed by email.
- If you are admitted, ESA will contact you for further information about the registration.
