Greener port calls on the horizon: NWO grants 4 million euro project

More efficient port calls can make maritime transport faster and greener. To achieve this ambition, the PortCall.Zero project has been awarded 4 million euros through the NWO Perspectief programme. Led by TU Delft, and with contributions from 16 partners, the project aims to significantly reduce the CO2 emissions of port activities by making use of AI and electric shore power.

Open Technology Programme funds three Delft research projects

The board of NWO Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences awards funding to six research projects through the Open Technology Programme. Three of the these six proposals have been awarded to Delft researchers. In total, NWO is funding the projects with 4.5 million euros, companies involved and other organisations are investing 760 thousand euros.

Open Technology Programme is funding research for climate-resilient asphalt

Xueyan Liu, Associate Professor in pavement engineering at CEG, receives the funding to develop a novel approach to create climate-resilient asphalt materials. He will do this together with Marc Schleiss from TU Delft and Yangming Gao from Liverpool John Moores University. The project is called Mechanics and Data-Driven Approach for Developing Resilient Asphalt Materials (MEDAS).
