Monitoring of fluid mud in ports
Current surveying techniques used by port authorities to estimate the nautical depth are limited in their depth and temporal resolution. Because of this, heavily used quay walls can not be optimised for occupation, there is less then optimal ship traffic and more dredging is required. We will investigate the utilization of distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) with active and passive (propeller noise) seismic measuremetns for montioring on demand of the water/fluid/mud depth with high spatial and temporal resolution.
