Purple Friday
Friday the 8th of December is Purple Friday, which invites us to pay attention to the LGBTI+ community. As dean of our faculty and chair of the TU Delft study climate steering board, I am delighted that Purple Friday is celebrated campus-wide to express the solidarity between us.

Second community dinner delivered great conversations
On Tuesday October 31, the second community dinner of this year took place in the Berlage hall, where students and employees discussed the state of diversity and inclusion in education and research.

How to champion the cause of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in our community
Robert Gorny, affectionately nicknamed Bob, is an Architecture theorist, lecturer, and researcher. In his work he has always engaged with feminist and queer theory. As such, his appointment to the position of Diversity officer (now called EDI officer) this past February was a logical next step. Cecile Calis originally applied for the same position, but her pitch for an event-based approach convinced the dean to create the new position of Community officer. Together they champion the cause of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) and Community at the faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment.

Diversity and Inclusion 2.0: an interview with the D&I Team
From February 2023, Roberto Rocco leaves the function of Faculty Diversity and Inclusion Officer, to be taken up by Robert (Bob) Gorny. Together with Cécile Calis in the new function of Community Officer, they will work as a team to help make BK an environment that fosters diversity and inclusivity in both structure and operation. We would like to look back with them on the past two years and look ahead to the coming period.
