Lustrum event by Stylos: 'Building with Delft'
Study association Stylos is turning 130 years old. After all kinds of activities at the faculty, the time has come to share the joy with the city of Delft. So from 9 June onwards you can visit a pavilion built by students from sustainable and circular materials. It will function as a meeting place for residents and students for one month, after which the pavilion's modules will be permanently installed at cultural and social organisations in Delft.
The pavilion will be built in the week of 4 June on the empty lot next to the junction of Mercuriuspad and Nieuwe Gracht. It will stand there for a month. During this month, the pavilion will host at least three public events. On Sunday 9 June from 14:00 to 18:00 is the celebratory opening; on Wednesday 19 June from 18:00 there will be a dinner; and Thursday 27 June from 17:00 to 22:00 will see a party to mark the end of the academic year.
The pavilion will consist of at least eight modules designed in collaboration with the organisations that will later receive them. There will be, among others, a greenhouse for neighbourhood association Taste! where they can grow their own fruit and vegetables; a bee shed for petting zoo Tanthof; a 'chill module' for scouting Paulus where children can rest; and a terrace enclosure for the educational workplace Stunt. In addition, two of the modules are designated for our faculty.
