Manon van Beek appointed member of TU Delft Supervisory Board
The Minister of Education, Culture and Science has appointed Manon van Beek as a member of the Supervisory Board of TU Delft for a period of four years.
Manon van Beek is CEO of TenneT Holding B.V. As a leading European grid operator, TenneT is one of the largest investors in the energy transition in Northwestern Europe with the aim of ensuring a sustainable, reliable and affordable energy future. In her career, Van Beek has made a conscious decision to work actively on sustainability and accelerating the energy transition, which makes her an excellent addition to the Supervisory Board of TU Delft with ambitions in sustainability and the energy transition. Her interests and views on a sustainable society extend beyond climate and energy. She is also a passionate advocate for gender equality and diversity in the workplace. Her position at TenneT has enabled her to build up a good network in both the business community and with the government.
With effect from 1 June 2023, Manon van Beek will become the member who has the special confidence of the employee and student participation bodies, in accordance with Section 9.7 of the Higher Education and Research Act. She will succeed Carolien Gehrels, who is leaving the Supervisory Board as of 1 June due to the end of her second and final term of office.
As of 1 June 2023, the composition of the Supervisory Board is as follows:

The Supervisory Board is appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science. The Board has a number of specific tasks as set out by law, including the appointment of Executive Board members, the approval of the Executive and Management Regulations, the strategic plan, decisions regarding the employee participation system, the budget and the annual report.
