Start-up grant exploratory and participatory modelling for Health Technology Assessment
Jan Kwakkel en Saba Hinrichs-Krapels (MAS/Policy Analysis) have just been awarded a start-up grant from ZonMw as part of their Health Technology Assessment (HTA) methodology funding series. The project is led by Radboud MC and investigates how exploratory, participatory and adaptive modelling can inform the adoption and use of Magnetic Resonance -guided radiotherapy. This form of precision medicine is used to guide the radiation machine so that the dose is delivered to best match the tumor while minimizing damaging surrounding tissue (e.g., the heart).
This project is a neat example of how TPM’s methodological expertise in combining technical simulation with participatory methods can advance how we make decisions about which technologies to use for clinical care.
