Vening Meinesz Medal 2022 for Peter Teunissen
The European Geosciences Union (EGU) awarded the Vening Meinesz Medal 2022 to professor Peter Teunissen (GRS), for pioneering and influential work ranging from fundamental geodetic theory to breakthrough innovations in Global Navigation Satellite System modelling and precise positioning.
The jury quoted: Teunissen clearly ranks among the most influential geodesists. He is one of the most cited in the field, providing further evidence for the recognition that his work receives. His publication count is almost unrivalled and most publications have been done in world class, peer reviewed journals. Also his community service has been utilized by numerous organizations. He is clearly a visionary research leader and influential pioneer whose many exceptional and unparalleled contributions to geodetic science have shown profound and lasting impact.
