Connecting the Dots" celebrates the first two years of the Design, Data, and Society Group at the Department of Architecture and is curated as a critical yet optimistic platform, reusing models of the BK collection, and displaying a variety of conceptual snapshots and visual thoughts that address the complex interplay of design, data, and society.

Centraal Museum Utrecht brings an ode to the chair with the exhibition ‘Stoel neemt stelling', featuring more than 100 diverse designs, each with its own story. This exhibition also features a chair from the chair collection, Friso kramer's 'Revolt Chair'.

Next October 13th, the exhibition ‘The sorting Act: Endless ways of organizing the Architecture Collections’ will open its doors in the Oostserre. Organised by BK-Expo, the show will display a variety of models from the Architecture Collections.

A bright new chair joined the Chair Collection on March 22nd: Chubby Chair by Dirk van der Kooij. It was donated by chair enthousiast Henri de Jong, because it shows such an interesting example of recycling material.

The chair collection displays a number of chairs by well-known Dutch architects, that are on loan from the New Institute in Rotterdam to be part of our teaching collection.

In the course ‘Imaging and Communcation (Form Study)’, part of the minor ‘House of the Future’, students designed a chair or table. First step in this process was analysing some existing design classics. These design classics are part of the chair collection of the faculty of Architecture.

The replicas of three Rietveld Chairs were donated by their builder, Mr. Van Fraeijenhove. The Chair Collection already had a series of original Rietveld chairs, and a series of miniatures scale 1/3. We have now added three full size replicas and four miniatures of Rietveld designs.

Architecture Collections has a series of models of houses designed for the Weissenhofseidlung in Stuttgart. These models are made by students during the exercise 'The Presentation Model' and contain designs of Oud, Stam, Gropius and Taut.

The Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment holds a number of original Rietveld chairs in the Chair Collection. One of these, a Rietveld Crate Chair has been on loan to the Design Museum Gent since the opening of the exhibition ‘Maarten van Severen & Co. A Wild Thing’ in 2015.
