New addition: Chubby Chair

A bright new chair joined the Chair Collection on March 22nd: Chubby Chair by Dirk van der Kooij. It was donated by chair enthousiast Henri de Jong, because it shows such an interesting example of recycling material. Chubby was named for the fat and slightly wobbly appearance of the material that forms the chair. In each copy the molten plastic sets in a slightly different shape and colour, making each one unique. The chair was made from the plastic taken from the interior of discarded fridges, using a 3D printer built by Van der Kooij himself. In the continuous line of this chair you can literally trace the printing process from start to finish.
