Anneke Zuiderwijk present work Open Data Research Lab at Brighton and Sussex Medical School
On 27 February, Anneke Zuiderwijk had the honour to present the work we do as part of the ESS Open Data Research Lab to employees of Brighton and Sussex Medical School, UK, and to provide the context of her research on open and FAIR data (in the role of director of this lab).
After the talk, there was an interesting discussion on the challenges and potentials of openly sharing health data, MRI data, and clinical data. The discussion also included issues related to the longevity of data, funding for reusing secondary data, the role of data managers to support data sharing, and what to do if data that has been shared openly is not being reused by others while considerable effort and time have been spent on making the data available. We would like to thank Deeptima Massey, Research and Enterprise Coordinator at the University of Sussex, for the invitation to deliver this talk and we thank all the participants for joining the presentation and discussion.
