Asterios Katsifodimos receives SIGMOD Systems Award

Asterios Katsiodimos has been awarded the ACM SIGMOD Systems Award 2023 with Apache Flink.
Apache Flink is the most widely used stream processor, with thousands of deployments in the most important infrastructures of companies and enterprises. Apache Flink is a framework and distributed processing engine for stateful computations over unbounded and bounded data streams. Flink has been designed to run in all common cluster environments, perform computations at in-memory speed and at any scale.

The SIGMOD Systems Award is awarded to an individual or set of individuals to recognize the development of a software or hardware system whose technical contributions have had significant impact on the theory or practice of large-scale data management systems.

The award will be presented during the 2023 SCM SIGMOD 2023 conference in Seattle, USA.
