NDA signed between TenneT and TU Delft
Picture shows the signing was completely corona proof as the ceremony separately took place in the west (TU Delft) and in the east (TenneT) of the Netherlands. Left picture: Ben Voorhost (TenneT), right picture: John Schmitz (TU Delft).
In May 2020, the strategic cooperation between TenneT and TU Delft/EWI reached a new level. EWI dean John Schmitz and TenneT COO Ben Voorhorst signed a non-disclosure agreement on network data and historical data. TenneT wishes to improve the applicability of the research at TU Delft by making real data available for the researchers. General data and general models would only lead to generic conclusions. However, when participating in projects such as the "control room of the future" and the "Dutch power system real time digital twin" TenneT expects real answers to real questions. The power system of the future will have high levels of renewable generation, and the scientific and engineering questions become very complex.
The NDA will allow the project partners to work on advanced controls and solutions for our real cyber-physical power system. The handling of the shared data is governed by a novel Security Plan. The event signing ceremony (see picture) was safe and completely corona proof, since it happened virtually in separate offices.
