SPE Award for Jan Dirk Jansen

Prof. Dr. Ir. Jan Dirk Jansen has received SPE Distinguished Membership and Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty from Society of Petroleum Engineers. 

Jansen is being recognized for his creation of a research collaboration in mathematics, systems-and-control theory, and reservoir engineering for use in subsurface flow simulation and control, for originating of the use of optimization methods for reservoir management; and for unifying a diverse department that commands cooperation and respect, authoring textbooks and technical publications, and founding a field of research in "smart fields”, the automatic history-matching and optimization of field management.
