From complex adaptive systems to housing relocation in urban China
In the field of architecture, urbanism, and building sciences, many questions are still unanswered. The research programmes at BK City are devoted to answering those questions with ground-breaking projects. This month, no less than seven PhD-candidates defend the results of their work.
Their work deals with the entire spectrum of the field, from an analysis on the transformation of park compositions to complex adaptive systems and the relation with urban morphology. Their work helps interpret the impact of words in urban design, and offers an assessment on energy performance progress of the Dutch non-profit housing stock. Their research provides project-specific value capture strategies for architectural firms, clarifies the benefits of mixed neighbourhoods, and shows how residents perceive impending forces relocation in urban China.
