Bucky Lab

Bucky Lab is a ‘think tank’ and a design and engineering course for students following the master’s programmes Building Technology and Architecture. Twice a year they open their temporary workshop to discover new solutions for problems in the built environment. At the end of the course, they build 1:1 prototypes of their ideas in the mobile workshop.

Students who choose this assignment are commissioned by industry partners such as government groups and civil society organisations. Under supervision, students design, develop and build architecture- and construction-related prototypes.

Bucky Lab is an international phenomenon within the world of architectural education. It is a "get your hands dirty" approach which teaches students to translate their concepts from sketch to working prototypes. We try to live the spirit of Buckminster Fuller: whatever you can imagine, you can also build!

Location:
In summer, in a tent next to the model hall.
In winter, variable (somewhere in Delft).

Opening hours:
The workshop opens for 2 weeks, every six months.
