PhD and Post Doc Posters and Pitches
The Urban Energy Institute is inviting PhDs, Post Docs and Masters students to share their work through a pitch competition and posters.
The topic of the pitches and posters should connect to the themes of the Urban Energy Institute and the institute's mission to support a rapid, just and equitable transition to a carbon-free built environment. The themes include:
- Toward zero energy buildings & beyond
- Fast transition of the existing building stock
- Thermal urban energy
- Solar urban
- Smart monitoring, management and control
- Transforming cities
- Social innovation in the energy transition

- You must be a current Post Doc, PhD researcher or Masters student (or have graduated in the last 6 months). Post Docs, PhDs or Masters students both inside and outside of TU Delft can participate in this event
- Pitches and posters can introduce the topic and methods of your research. You may present ongoing or completed research results if this is relevant.
- You must be available to present your research live on 19 November at the Old Library in Delft

- Posters must be submitted using this Microsoft PowerPoint template. The size is A0 (841 x 1188 mm)
- Posters received by TU Delft researchers will be added to the Urban Energy Institute Virtual Poster Pavilion
- Email your poster to urbanenergy@tudelft.nl in PDF format by 12 November end of day.
- Please name your PDF file in the following way: "family name-short title" (e.g. Smith-Thermal Urban Energy Systems).
- Posters will be printed by the conference organizers. Any posters received after 14 November may not be printed.
- You may print your own poster if you wish - please indicate this when submitting your poster.

- Pitches should be 3 minutes maximum
- You are encouraged to use your own slide deck template. There are no formal requirements. If you are looking for guidance, consider including the following topics in your pitch:
- A little bit about you as a researcher
- Your topic
- Interesting results
- Challenges and opportunities ahead
- Are you still not sure what to focus on? Consider this presentation by Dirma Jansen given on 29 March, 2021 about visualizing science research for inspiration.
- During the live session, the audience will be invited to vote on the most outstanding pitch.
- Your pitch must be in PowerPoint format. To ensure optimal formatting, please do not use any obscure fonts.
Interested in pitching or submitting a poster? Sign up here before 5 November to let us know you are planning a pitch or poster. Please note spots are limited. We encourage you to sign up early!
Your final pitch and / or poster can be emailed to urbanenergy@tudelft.nl by 12 November by 12:00 noon at the latest. Pitches should be sent in PowerPoint format. Posters should be sent in PDF format. Files received after 12 November will not be included in the program.
