FISH

Neutron imaging is very versatile technique to reveal secrets inside materials. Sometimes old famous painting are simply painted over previous painting attempts that maybe were considered not worthwhile. This can be revealed with imaging! Water or air bubbles inside concrete while it's hardening or plastic parts trapped in steel housing: things that you can't detect with X-ray imaging can be seen with neutron imaging and you don't need to destroy the object. In Delft we are designing such a neutron imaging station: FISH and this blog will keep you up to date with the developments, choices and the progress.
