We use light and electron microscopy to study how the brain develops.  Our goal is to develop tools to image synapse function and structure in living zebrafish embryos, and connect this to nanoscale maps made using correlative photon and electron techniques.

Our PhD student Anna Ezerskaya was selected to receive a 2018 ASLMS Travel Grant. She will present at the 38th Annual Conference of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery to be held in Dallas, Texas, April 11 - 15, 2018.

Elizabeth was awarded a small grant (Eur 30.000) in the ZonMW Enabling Technologies Hotels program. The project “Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy to Assess Synapse Development in Zebrafish Larvae” is in collaboration with the Koster group, LUMC, and Delmic.
