BeCOMe (Beyond Classical Optical Metrology) is a three-year project which aims at developing the next generation of optics-based dimensional metrology systems that keep all the known advantages of optical measurement techniques (such as precision, penetration depth, non-invasiveness, scalability, industrial integrability) and overcome their current limitations in terms of spatial resolution and accuracy.
The project (coordinated by Omar El Gawhary on behalf of VSL) sees the participation of 15 different institutes (6 NMIs, 7 universities, 2 research centers) from 8 different European countries and will receive funding from the EU for about M€ 1.7 along with about M€ 1 of national funding from the different participating countries.
