Educator of the Year

 

This award celebrates education and those participating in it as passionate and inspiring educators at TU Delft.

Every year, the study associations nominate an educator for the title "TU Delft Educator of the Year" on behalf of the faculty. The winner is selected on the basis of the nominations submitted. The jury consists of an Executive Board member, the Academic Director of the Teaching Academy, the previous winner of the title, three members of the Student Council, and a member of the Study Association Council.

On 7 November 2024 at the TU Delft Education Day - Award Ceremony, the Faculty Educators of the Year 2024 were put in the spotlight. And the TU Delft Educator of the Year 2024 was announced.

Due to the special circumstances 2020 will be celebrated as the Year of the Lecturer.

Best Lecturer TU Delft 2018 – Calvin Rans

During the Education Day 2018, Calvin Rans was elected Best Lecturer of TU Delft. Check out his story.
Calvin Rans also became the ISO Docent van het Jaar 2019 (national award).

From 2023 on, the award title was changed from 'TU Delft Lecturer of the Year' to 'TU Delft Educator of the Year'. The Directors of Education felt that 'Educator' covers better those who can be nominated for this title. Meaning that any lecturer, full-time teacher or professor who teaches and has a positive impact on students at TU Delft can be nominated by the students through the study associations.
