Technology Entrepreneurship and Sustainability
Description
This course has a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship related to the circular economy and new sustainable energy technologies. Using methods and theories to analyse entrepreneurial opportunities, you will gain a deep understanding of circular business models. You will reflect on a case study of a start-up with a focus on sustainability or circularity and analyse its entrepreneurial journey. How did the opportunity arise, how is the technology developed for commercial use and how does the startup navigate the relevant sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. This course helps you prepare for a wide array of career paths, from starting technology start-up or joining a established organization based on the topics of sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation.
What to expect?
In the class you will work in three learning blocks and you will work in a team to analyse the early growth of an existing startup. Each learning block has interactive class discussions about concepts and theories which you will apply to better understand the initial idea identification of a startup until it enters a market and the business model it has developed. Each learning block has an assignment and a peer review session and the course will conclude with a final presentation of your case analyses.
