Partners
Apart from co-organizing many of its activities with study and student’s associations, SG has an active partnership with three student-run organizations in Delft. These partners share many of the goals of SG, such as working to encourage debate, critical thinking, and an awareness of global issues and concerns.
As a result of this cooperation, you will regularly see events in our calendar under a combined flag of SG and one or more of its partners. We invite you to read more about SG’s partners and find out what motivates these students to have an impact in Delft, and of course you are more than welcome to attend their events.
Bèta Balie Delft
Bèta Balie Delft is a joint initiative by TU Delft, Studium Generale Delft, Theater de Veste, TOP Delft, Delft Design and Stichting Toekomstbeeld der Techniek. The partners combine their expertise in connecting and exploring technological and societal challenges. Climate, robotics, energy, cyber space, smart cities, healthcare, the arts… each is the product of people and technology. We offer lectures, debates, workshops, projects and theatre productions that connect and explore technology, innovation and society. For example a dance performance with drones, a design challenge over robots in society or a debate on how the university and citizens can make Delft into a smart city. Most activities take place in Theater De Veste and the Prinsenkwartier Delft.

Theater de Veste
Studium Generale and Theater de Veste have a longstanding collaboration that includes a wide range of events. From live recordings with Home Academy and the Philosophy Café to lively debates with Professors in the Theatre Arena and the Groene Live. The 2020-2021 season will feature a new series around Art & Technology with topics including equality, intimacy and privacy.
Lumen Cinema
Studium Generale regularly collaborates with Lumen Cinema for special editions of the Tuesday Student Night, where we introduce and discuss movies and documentaries that touch upon philosophy, technology and society in the past, present and future. Topics have been as diverse as the Fall of the Berlin Wall, Artificial Intelligence, preserving the Galapagos Islands and a festival around the End of Life and Quality of Dying.
