Biografie

Sultan Çetin is a postdoctoral researcher in the Design and Construction Management section at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment. She obtained bachelor's degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering in Turkiye and a master's degree in Building Energy Performance from Eindhoven University of Technology. She worked as an architect for several years on large-scale international projects in Russia, Azerbaijan, and the Netherlands. In 2023, she successfully defended her PhD thesis on Towards a Circular Building Industry Through Digitalisation.

She is currently one of the Embassy Science Fellows (NWO & Ministry of Foreign Affairs) conducting research on developing an action framework for integrating circular reconstruction strategies in Turkiye's earthquake-affected cities. She is also involved in the DEMO BLog project funded by Horizon Europe. In her research, she focuses on digitalisation for circularity, digital building logbooks, data requirements and availability of material passports.
