- The transition to a fully renewables based environment is a complex challenge, and at the urban level needs many stakeholders to be both informed and involved.
- This requires interpreting complex and diverging types of datasets in order to shape a roadmap: what is required where, and how much is available, from which sources, when and in which qualities, and which choices should be made now and which can be made later.
- Energy Potential Mapping provides the physical-technical basis for this. It facilitates the involvement of the many stakeholders without an engineering background, in making informed decisions while shaping feasible energy transition roadmaps.
