Prof. Dr. Kitty Nijmeijer is professor Membrane Materials and Processes at the department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry of Eindhoven University of Technology.

The expertise of the group is the multi-disciplinary topic of materials chemistry and morphology to control polymer membrane functionality and performance for sustainable process applications involving water (e.g. water purification, wastewater treatment, recovery of valuable components), gas (industrial gas separations, (supercritical) CO₂ processes and water vapor capture), electrons (separation of charged components, energy generation, energy storage, flow batteries), or a combination of these.

We distinguish three major research lines: 1) Control of membrane porosity; 2) Molecular specificity and 3) Membrane module and process design and performance.
