New insights about the balance organ in Nature Communications
Patrick Forbes, post-doc research-fellow at the Department of BioMechanical Engineering and the Erasmus MC, together with colleagues from Johns Hopkins University and the University of British Columbia, published new findings about the balance organ (the vestibular system) in Nature Communications. The research characterizes the activity of vestibular neurons in monkeys during galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) and motion to reveal the neural substrate underpinning GVS-evoked perceptual, ocular and postural responses.

TU Delft en TNO starten Dutch Ocean Technology Centre (DOTC)
Op donderdag 6 juni lanceren TU Delft en TNO het Dutch Ocean Technology Centre (DOTC). Gedreven door de energietransitie in de maritieme en offshore sector bundelt dit centrum menskracht, kennis en infrastructuur voor een efficiëntere aanpak van missiegedreven onderzoek in de maritieme sector. Binnen dit initiatief streven TU Delft en TNO naar een snellere realisatie van duurzame scheepvaart.

Javier Alonso-Mora en team ontvangen IEEE ICRA Best Paper Award omtrent Multi-Robot Systems
Het artikel "Gedistribueerde multi-robotvorming splitsen en samenvoegen in dynamische omgevingen", door Hai Zhu, Jelle Juhl, Laura Ferranti, Javier Alonso-Mora heeft de IEEE ICRA Best Paper Award gewonnen op Multi-Robot Systems tijdens de IEEE International Conference on Robotics en Automation, de vlaggenschipconferentie over robotica gevierd in Montreal in mei 2019.
