Research & Development

The Research and Development PSO is suggested for students interested in commercial R&D. Students will complete an industrial internship outside of TU Delft (internships at universities and academic institutions are not allowed). Students can choose between a wide range of relevant host firms, from start-ups to large multinationals and contractors, in such sectors as oil, food and bioscience. Assessment is by the company's in-house supervisor, working with and under the responsibility of the academic supervisor from TU Delft, and is based heavily upon on the student's written report and a final discussion. The internship comprises of 18 or 24 EC, depending on the preferences of the student and company. The remaining 6 or 12 EC can be spent on electives or a MEP extension (only with shorter internship where 12 EC remain).
