Get started with SciVal
SciVal is a bibliometric tool that can be used to analyse and visualize the positioning of research of individuals, groups and institutes. As a researcher, you can use SciVal for example to create evaluation reports, identify a publication strategy, and to find new collaborations.
What does Scival provide?
SciVal uses the Scopus database and provides publication information and metrics of over 24,000 research institutions and their associated researchers based across more than 230 nations worldwide.
You can define your own publication sets, groups or research areas by using keywords, or import publications from Scopus or for example using a list of DOIs. You can also collect and group names of colleague researchers or (potential) collaborators to analyse group performances.
Use Explore to get key performance metrics for single entities, such as researchers, groups of researchers, institutions, group of institutions, countries and more.
The sections within Explore:
- Overview provides a high-level overview of your or other institution's research performance based on publications, citations, and collaboration.
- Collaboration is where you can evaluate the existing research collaborations of your and other institutions and identify potential partners.
- Trends is where you can evaluate all aspects of Topics, Research Areas and Publication Sets. You can learn about the key players and rising stars within an area of interest.
Use Compare to compare and benchmark the research performance of two or more researchers, groups of researchers, institutions, group of institutions, countries.
The section within Compare:
- Benchmarking lets you easily evaluate your research performance in comparison to others in your region, country and the world.
Reporting
The Reporting section in SciVal allows you to create rich reports specifically tailored to support your institution's distinct research strategy.
