TU Delft OPEN Publishing, the university publisher of Delft University of Technology, follows a diamond business model. We publish high-standard publications on subjects relevant to TU Delft, offering a community-driven, open-access communication channel.This timeline gives an impression of our history and marks the five-year anniversary of TU Delft’s open-access publishing house.
1972
Delft University Press (DUP) was founded in 1972 and was recognised as a scientific publisher four years later. DUP published books, theses and scientific journals for many years. The publishing house was sold to IOS Press in 2005.
2011
The first article in the journal A+BE | Architecture and the built environment

The first textbook published at TU Delft OPEN Textbooks
2019
Start of TU Delft OPEN Publishing
2021
The first book was published at TU Delft OPEN Books.
2022
