Mondai – House of Ai

Research Themes: Software Technology & Intellligent Systems & Social Impact

A TRL is a measure to indicate the matureness of a developing technology. When an innovative idea is discovered it is often not directly suitable for application. Usually such novel idea is subjected to further experimentation, testing and prototyping before it can be implemented. The image below shows how to read TRL’s to categorise the innovative ideas.

Summary of the project

With the rise of more data driven science a lot of artificial intelligence (AI) related initiatives are being developed at TU Delft Campus. Think of the establishment of various AI labs for research across all faculties, the development of (post) academic courses, business development activities, collaboration with companies and other enterprises and a lot of other events. However, there is nothing that brings all these initiatives together so they can reinforce each other. For an outsider it is difficult to determine where to begin or whom to address if they have an AI related question or problem. Mondai|House of AI is the shop window where AI initiatives can be showcased, lowering the threshold for spurring AI related collaborations for innovation. Mondai is at the heart of an active and inspiring ecosystem of stakeholders for research and innovation of AI in Delft. They offer a programming of AI-related events that bring together internal and external stakeholders and facilitate interaction and communication.

What's next?

The next step for Mondai is to extend its activities and services in co-creation with internal and external stakeholders. The newest service that is being developed is an engineering capacity pool that addresses the need for finding well trained and educated AI professionals that can implement and work with the latest state-of-the-art of AI technologies. More and other services will follow!
