This research explores the effects of manmade fixed riverbeds on large scale morphodynamics,
particularly in engineered rivers like the Dutch Rhine. It analyzes the fixed bed-related effects
individually, focusing on the protrusion, increased roughness, and reduced mobility. Utilizing
conceptual and numerical models, the study delves into both short- and long-term impacts. It highlights
the significance of fixed riverbeds for river management, stressing the necessity of continual
monitoring of riverbed heights for effective management.
