Dr. Daphne Stam
Associate Professor Planetary Sciences at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering
Daphne studied theoretical physics at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) in Amsterdam, and did her PhD research on Earth Remote-Sensing at the KNMI and the VU. After that, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University, in the USA, working on observations of Solar System planets, such as Saturn and Uranus. With a Veni and a Vidi grant, she extended her research to exoplanets (planets around other stars), working at the Astronomical Institute of the University of Amsterdam. Next, she led the (Exo)planetary Atmospheres research group at SRON, the Netherlands Institute for Space Research. In 2013, she joined the faculty of Aerospace Engineering.
