Lunch seminar "Proportional Hazards Modelling: Theory and Applications"
22 februari 2023 12:00 t/m 13:00 | Zet in mijn agenda
A series of seminars about maintenance sponsored by the TU Delft Safety & Security Institute Seed Funding.
The talk titled "Proportional Hazards Modelling: Theory and Applications" emphasizes the value of university and industry collaboration in the field of condition monitoring. The traditional approach of condition monitoring is compared to the more advanced method of proportional hazards modelling (PHM). Incorporating economic considerations is also discussed as a key factor in optimizing decisions for condition-based maintenance (CBM). Two specific applications of PHM for CBM optimization are presented: P & W aircraft engines and diesel engines on frigates
Proportional Hazards Modelling: Theory and Applications
Recording of this seminar
As a part of a series of seminars about maintenance sponsored by the TU Delft Safety & Security Institute Seed Funding, we are presenting here the first seminar.
About the Seminar
The talk titled "Proportional Hazards Modelling: Theory and Applications" emphasizes the value of university and industry collaboration in the field of condition monitoring. The analogy of condition monitoring being similar to detecting a heart attack before it occurs is used to highlight the importance of early detection. The traditional approach of condition monitoring is compared to the more advanced method of proportional hazards modelling (PHM). Incorporating economic considerations is also discussed as a key factor in optimizing decisions for condition-based maintenance (CBM). Two specific applications of PHM for CBM optimization are presented: P & W aircraft engines and diesel engines on frigates.
About the Speaker : Andrew Jardine
Professor Jardine, PhD., C.Eng., M.I.Mech.E., M.I.E.T., P.Eng is Director of the Centre for Maintenance Optimization and Reliability Engineering (C-MORE) at the University of Toronto where the EXAKT software for CBM optimization and the SMS software for the optimization for emergency spares have been developed. Centre details can be found at www.mie.utoronto.ca/cmore. Dr. Jardine wrote the book, "Maintenance, Replacement and Reliability", first published in 1973 and now in its 6th printing. He is the co-editor with J.D. Campbell of the 2001 published book "Maintenance Excellence: Optimizing Equipment Life Cycle Decisions". His newest book "Maintenance, Replacement & Reliability: Theory and Applications", co-authored with Dr. A.H.C. Tsang, was published by CRC Press, 2006.
