Mark Burgman: A history and diagnosis of attempts to embed SEJ in government

This presentation outlines two separate strategic initiatives designed to lead governments in two jurisdictions to adopt SEJ as part of their fundamental skill sets and operating procedures. The strategies involved working groups, exchanges, worked examples, tailored training, and dedicated governance arrangements between universities and government. The presentation will describe what worked, what didn’t and will speculate on the reasons behind the outcomes.
