Webinar Remote Teaching | Using Stack Overflow, a gamified Q&A platform, in a bachelor programme with Stefan Hugtenberg | 30 June

After the successful acquisition of a grant from SURF, we have been piloting with the use of Stack Overflow for teams in the bachelor programme of Computer Science & Engineering with 1500 students. Stack Overflow is a gamified question & answer platform whose public site is visited by tens of thousands of programmers every day. Since the start of this academic year we have seen 1700 users join our private instance that is used for all courses in our bachelor programme. Compared to the Brightspace discussions in the last few years, we have noticed that a much larger fraction of the questions is now answered by students rather than staff, the number of duplicate questions has gone down, and we have started to build a knowledge base that can be accessed and extended by students starting in the years to come.
