Hey there! I'm Daniela Birca...
... and I'm a first-year MSc student at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, specializing in Structures and Materials in Space. Originally from Romania, I recently wrapped up my Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering and decided to move to the Netherlands to develop academically to a higher level. Beyond my academic pursuits, I'm a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for sports, music, and the arts. You'll often find me in the Aerobics room, running, cycling, or indulging in my creative side through drawing, painting and graphic design.
I arrived in Delft...
...this August and dove into the offerings of X in September. I'm absolutely hooked on everything X has to offer! The blend of fitness classes, studio spaces, and the chance to learn new skills is a rare and appreciated privilege. Personally, I'm a big fan of Nancy's Body Power and BBB classes—they give me the boost I need. Exploring new hobbies like LinoCut Printing has been a delightful way to express myself through unique prints. The workshops, especially the stress-relief sessions, have been a game-changer during exam season. And don't even get me started on the Karaoke and Open Mic Evenings; connecting with fellow performing arts enthusiasts is simply incredible. I also plan on taking a few other classes in the upcoming quarters, such as Pottery, Pole Fit and Music Production.
Throughout this journey...
...I've discovered resilience in unexpected places. The most surprising thing was how participating in X's events pushed me out of my comfort zone, especially during events like the stress-relief workshops. For newcomers, I'd highly recommend trying a bit of everything—whether it's a fitness class, a workshop, or a social event. You never know what might become your next passion and where your next best friend might be!
