My main vision...
...on studying at the TU Delft was to ensure I invested in the overall development of my life. This includes body, mind and my professional career. Also, coming to the Netherlands, I was excited to play hockey as it is a religion in my high-school and my hometown (Bangalore) back in India.
Studying during COVID...
...times was hard because I rely on motivation and energy which the people around me provide. This was virtually non-existent due to the restrictions and there was no sport which only added to the challenge. Biking to different cities in the Netherlands was a very good form of enlightenment in times of loneliness. These solo rides were very introspective and necessary. When the restrictions were lifted, X started functioning a lot better which was a huge blessing and I am grateful for that.
I feel...
...most connected to the one’s around me when I am not sleep deprived and when I am able to contribute to the ‘greater good’. This is also very evident when I do not think about my coursework and the best way to feel live again is to tire myself out by playing sport or by biking. I believe that connection does not need a language and I can vouch for this with the special bond I share with my teammates at S.H.C Scoop – Heren Zes. I really enjoy healthy rivalry because it drives me to be a better person every day, as a goalkeeper and as an individual.
I feel great...
...now things are slowly turning back to normal, because I can finally play hockey again and I am only anxious because I feel I don’t play enough sport. However, given the time and resources I have, I am having a great time. I do look forward to trying out Futsal and Floorball again.
