X in motion: Revamping public spaces and new programme spaces at X

You may have noticed changes happening in various spaces at X. These changes are part of a project to redesign our freely accessible areas to better meet your needs, incorporate lessons learned from Exhale, and more accurately reflect what X represents.

We envision an open environment where there’s space for meeting, connecting, playing, and relaxing. From November 2024 through January 2025, you’ll see colours flowing in, furniture being rearranged, and rooms coming to life with new lighting.

What to Expect?

On the ground floor, work has already begun in the entrance hall to create more room and a welcoming atmosphere where meeting and play are central. The former Concept Store will house a small-scale version of the Exhale Living Room. The Actlab will be transformed into a Craft Studio, highlighting the creative side of X in a more central location. Cosy seating areas and vibrant colours will make Café X feel even more inviting.

Toward Freetown, the Foyer will undergo a makeover to bring the heart of X’s creative corner to life. Meanwhile, 404 and the current Living Room will be reimagined as multifunctional studios, expanding options for both programming and rental opportunities.

A Sustainable Approach

By reusing much of the existing furniture and materials, we’re ensuring a sustainable approach that enhances X’s atmosphere. Elements from Exhale’s interior will play a significant role in this transformation, meaning you might spot familiar features in the new spaces.

Temporary Impact on Spaces:

• 404: Temporarily closed until completed.
• Living Room: Limited accessibility, with a complete temporary closure coming soon until completion.

The spaces will be completed in phases. In the new year, we look forward to welcoming everyone into the refreshed areas! Until then, we ask for your patience with any disruptions, all in the service of a better X where everyone feels at home!
