Looking Through

Within my exhibition called ‘Doorkijk’, the inexhaustible power of man is pitted against the unstoppable power of nature. The minerals within the collection of the Delft Science Center are first presented while emphasizing their beautiful sides. But as the exhibition progresses, one is confronted with the harsh consequences of mining these minerals. The peep-holes within the felt walls, in which stones are exhibited, forces the visitor to look at the mineral collection from two sides; and thus be confronted with the consequences of mineral resources depleting.
