Cabinets of Wonder

Cabinets of Wonder is an exhibition wherein the stone/mineral collection of the TU Delft Science Center is exhibited within various ‘Chambers of Wonder’: cubicles within the exhibition space which visitors can enter or peer into. The exhibition leads the visitors through the three different forming processes of minerals, crystals, and ores. The Chambers of Wonder are built from recycled Trespa® panels. These panels have the aesthetic property of being black on one face (inside) and white on the other (outside): this principle of white outside, black inside is a repeating theme in the exhibition. In the Trespa panels, a series of cutouts have been milled out. These peep holes create a kaleidoscope light effect within the Chambers of Wonder.
