Specialist in Internet security
Michel van Eeten (born 1970) is a Professor of Public Administration in the Organisation & Governance (OG) research group at TU Delft, and a specialist in Internet security.
He has advised the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, the International Telecommunication Union and the OECD on matters such as management, security and reliability of critical infrastructure.
“For ACDC we are faced with huge quantities of unstructured technical data, which we cut through in an intelligent manner. What’s nice is that we keep encountering surprises, which have important implications. My work usually concerns qualitative aspects, so examining issues from an econometric perspective is both new and fascinating for me. The fact that we ‘examine’ technical data with economic questions is also interesting. Mechanisms like these fit well with OG. Although ICT is a new area for OG, it fits well conceptually. We’re used to thinking in terms of players and stimuli here.”
