Several years of experience with traditional economic policy appraisal methods have highlighted the advantages and shortcomings of the present appraisal framework. Especially if we wish to achieve a greener and more sustainable future the economic policy framework needs improving. PVE provides the first building blocks for such improvements and allows ourselves as academics, but also politicians to think outside of the box.
