Teaching Lab

The Teaching Lab is the physical home of the Teaching Academy (the network for and by lecturers at the TU Delft). It is a dedicated space with special rooms for all TU Delft lecturers to connect, to share developments and innovation in education, to experiment with educational practices, and to spotlight lecturers.

Teaching Lab facilities for lecturers

The Teaching Lab is designed to collaboratively enhance engineering education.
In the Teaching Lab lecturers can:

• Drop by to interact, get inspired, and drink nice coffee with peers and education support staff. 
• Book the Do it Yourself Studio to record video’s. 
• Book a room (including facilities) to record podcasts.
• Book a space to organise (hybrid) brainstorm-sessions on education topics (contact the Teaching Academy Facilitation Team if you need a facilitator).
• Meet with Teaching & Learning Services (TLS) support colleagues, Extension School colleagues, and other education support staff.
• Book a space to organise (hybrid) get-togethers on education and innovation.
• Join the Teaching Academy events to connect with peers and share developments and innovations in education.
• Experiment with new education practices.
• Make use of the recording space for training purposes, to practice teaching skills.

​​​​​​How to use the Teaching Lab as educational support staff? 

• Invite your lecturers to the Teaching Lab to meet, connect and experiment together.
• Book a space for trainings on education related topics.
• Join the Teaching Academy events.
• Book a space to organise (hybrid) brainstorm-sessions and get-togethers on education topics. 

The Teaching Academy Facilitation Team (TAFT) is present in the Teaching Lab to assist you.

Where to enter (and leave) the Teaching lab? 

You can enter the Teaching Lab with your campus card from 3 different entrances. The main entrance via Pulse, a side entrance at the IDE-square and a shortcut on the first floor for our support colleagues from Teaching & Learning Services and the Extension School so that they can easily support and connect to lecturers in the Teaching lab.

Whichever entrance you choose, always bear in mind that there may be sessions/ workshops taking place. The entrance via Pulse is the one that is least intrusive for sessions in the open Teaching Lab space.

When leaving the Teaching Lab, don’t forget to push the button for the doors to open.
