Dr. ir. Dimitris XEVGENOS is Assistant Professor of Circular Water Systems & Sustainability at the Technology, Policy and Management faculty at TU Delft. During the past 12 years of his research career, he has been engaged in the design and development of cutting-edge technology on circular economy (CE) solutions, and also in delivering these innovations to the market, creating real impact. His research focuses on the design and management of circular water systems in the context of sustainability transitions. The goal of the research is to understand what are the barriers for adopting novel circular water technologies and to use this knowledge to bridge the theory-practice gap and thus stimulate the circular water economy.

Dimitris has a strong interdisciplinary engineering background, covering the fields of mechanical engineering (BSc), electrical engineering (MSc), chemical engineering (PhD) and civil engineering (Post Doc). Currently, he is the Executive Coordinator of the WATER-MINING project entitled "Next generation water-smart management systems: large scale demonstrations for a circular economy and society" adopting a systemic innovation approach to enable the adoption and social embedding of CE solutions.

He currently leads the “Circular Water Systems” cluster within the Pro2Tech institute, which is a university-wide research program for process and product technologies at TU Delft, between the faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Technology, Policy & Management, Applied Sciences and Civil Enginering. Dimitris is the coordinator of the CIRSEAU cluster, which is a cluster connecting the largest EU-funded projects in the area of circular water economy, namely WATER-MINING, ULTIMATE, REWAISE, B.WATERSMART and WIDER-UPTAKE.
